Hi, I’m Sugar
Hi! I’m Sugar — an animation artist and a director of an independent short film.
At the moment, I am creating a 3-minute pilot episode that serves as a visual and conceptual reference for the upcoming series «Paradise Curse.» Within the series, we will explore hidden human traumas, and in this episode I focus on the protagonist’s subconscious mechanisms and her perception of reality.
The main target audience of the project is people aged 18 to 25. Communication method: P2P. The project will be a web series with episodes lasting 25-30 minutes, plus mini episodes of 5-10 minutes.
А Little secret
The task of the mini-episode is to tell the story of the protagonist’s inner struggle with subconscious fears.
The resulting solution for me becomes the creation of sharp angles in the detective’s design (on her head) and soft features in the girl’s design, which will subsequently transform into other forms.
I’m Inside You…
The chase through the vegetation becomes a portal into a world of nightmares, where the little girl becomes a monster.
The loss of control occurs at the moment the little girl attacks the detective.
Results
The drab gray world coexists closely with the black-and-white world of the subconscious. Thus, against the backdrop of the drab world, bright contrasting colors that emerge in the protagonist’s subconscious are clearly visible.
