HEY.

Does your story need a visual solution that goes beyond the obvious?
Let’s get to know eachother! Name’s EugeneBird.
Artist / Illustrator / Animator.
I create meaning from gags and chaos for deep stories for art directors and producers at animation and game studios.
What I can do:
→ Find the idea behind the brief
→ Develop visual concepts
→ Illustrate the hell out of it
→ Design characters & strange little worlds
→ Bring images to life through animation
I work with:
→ Animation & game studios
→ Brands that aren’t afraid to be weird
→ Brands ready to try something different
→ Independent creators with worlds to build
I’m interested in what an image can say.
I start with a question, not a style. I look for contradictions, strange details, cultural references, and things people usually overlook. Sometimes they lead to a single image. Sometimes they become the foundation of an entire visual world.
A brief can be a starting point, but it doesn’t have to dictate the final image.
I’m interested in discovering what makes a subject meaningful, finding an unexpected angle, and building a visual solution around it.
The result might be an illustration, a character, a scene, or a visual concept for a larger story. What matters is the connection between the idea and the image — the reason a particular visual decision works.

2×2 — Aliens at the Door→
A 5-second animated ident for TV channel 2×2. Winning entry in an ident competition, broadcast on air.
Client’s wish: 2×2 regularly invites artists to reinterpret its logo through short animated idents. The challenge was to capture the channel’s distinctive character in just five seconds.

My chaos: I went with a tiny
sci-fi gag. Two detectives show up at the door. We see them through a peephole.
One of the aliens holds up an ID card — except there’s no personal information on it. Just the 2×2 logo.

VTB — salary card illustrations→
1st place in VTB’s illustration competition. Award-winning series of salary card inspired by Russian folklore and contemporary meme culture.
Сlient’s wish: Salary card based on Lubok motifs and Russian folklore.

My chaos: The open competition gave me room to interpret the theme. Rather than simply illustrating familiar fairy-tale characters, I wanted to find a connection between folk tradition and contemporary culture.

While studying the salary card market, I noticed how often attempts to communicate with a younger audience boiled down to memes, slang, and borrowed expressions.
I became interested in the question: is it possible to use the same mechanics without impoverishing the language, but, on the contrary, to restore its expressiveness?
