Agata Balaban. 2D animator. I’m looking for studio projects and collaborations. I draw and animate characters.

Why work with me
Three reasons: I work confidently across styles, choose the technique for the task, and fit easily into someone else’s vision. Next, the projects where I’ve put that to the test.

Style is a tool, not a limit
Dark realism and a bright cartoon call for different solutions, but the same foundation: drawing, movement and colour. First, two projects at opposite ends.
I draw frame-by-frame animation in Procreate Dreams, where a wide choice of brushes gives the image a living texture. I build cut-out animation in Moho when I need speed and clear movement mechanics.
Toska: heavy and quiet
Challenge
A music video for Delfin’s song about ravens, mortality and flesh. The task was to convey weight without jokes or effects, across three minutes of screen time.
What it proves
I can carry a long, serious sequence and hold
the mood with drawing and movement alone,
with no humour to lean on.
Death, but make it fun
Challenge
Death usually brings to mind gloom and sadness.
The task: in 2–3 minutes, convince the viewer that
the afterlife is much more fun, and do it lightly
and with humour.
What it proves
Skeletons, a graveyard and skulls drive a bright, cartoonish frame-by-frame film. The theme
is the same as in Toska, but the delivery
is the opposite. I control the mood instead of repeating a familiar style.

A fight made of clichés
