

The absurd moments in urban life, reminiscent of the endless stone-pushing journey from Camus’s works, weave subtle chaos amidst the din into a surreal and shadowy tableau.

The two-year project originated in Chongqing’s urban villages, where I documented the visual and class disparities between these enclaves and neighboring skyscrapers.



The project gradually expanded its scope to encompass the entire city, incorporating scenes of urban opulence and eccentric crowds into its visual narrative.



These 42 curated images now form The Stone — a visual manifesto of urban paradoxes.
