I made a series of picture of a married couple that often takes part in historic reconstruction of medieval knight battles together. They are madly in love, however, both hot tempered and passionate about their craft. I got to witness how both their tender looks and emotional outbursts coexist in the couple. In the clash of steel and dust, their love ignites—a tempest of passion as fierce as the battles they reenact. Together, they embody the fire of medieval knights and the fragile, burning tenderness of souls bound by both devotion and discord. His gaze lingers on her like a vow unbroken, even as their quarrels crackle with the heat of a hundred campfire arguments. She charges into every duel with a warrior’s cry, yet melts at his touch, armor yielding to the softness only he can draw out. My images capture their dual truth: a love as unyielding as a fortress wall, and as volatile as a blade’s edge, where every tender glance is a truce, and every stormy exchange a promise to never dull their shared flame. Here, amidst the echoes of history, they wage their own eternal battle—fighting not just for glory, but for the wild, unquiet heart they’ve built together.
