The poster is for the «7 Principles in Humanitarian Work» contest from the Red Cross social organization.
The poster is based on the visual metaphor of the puzzle: individual red circles form a holistic image. This symbolizes people who may be different in culture, religion, nationality or life experience, but together they create a single and harmonious whole. Every element is important and meaningful; without it, it is impossible to make a picture. Similarly, humanitarian work is based on a united effort — only together can we overcome the difficulties and help those who need it.
The form of the circle at the heart of the composition reinforces the idea of integration and interrelationship: the circle is a symbol of infinity, integrity, equality. At the centre of the image is a dove, a traditional symbol of peace, hope, purity, and love. It associates itself with the word «Unity,» emphasizing that true peacemaking and compassion are only possible when people unite, support each other and do not remain indifferent to other people’s pain.
