The HADRON COLLIDER is the greatest and most expensive particle accelerator built by mankind (and by whom else?) to answer fundamental questions of nature. Scientists are colliding protons, electrons, and other elements of existence at mind-boggling speeds, hoping to find something important and small, as well as, perhaps— a door to a parallel dimension. So far, we’ve only found a bunch of beautiful graphs and the certainty that the universe is a little more complicated than it first seemed.
