Morphine

The wilderness becomes a refuge for Sergei, a Moscow doctor who has escaped from a painful divorce. Morphine is his cure for mental pain, which is rapidly turning into a secret addiction. Anna, a nurse who loves him quietly, sees him drowning in despair, but all her attempts to help are shattered by lies and denial. Addicted to morphine and blinded by grief, Sergei does not notice how he is ruining himself and Anna.
