'Shocking Tweed' 2024
The haute couture project, which is aimed at improving highly qualified skills. The product is completely assembled from scratch, according to the canons of the classic Chanel tweed jacket.
According to the results of the research, the shape, color palette and various details of the product were developed. The work began with the search for suitable threads, from which I later began to create fabric on looms, after which the fabric is steamed, the next step is to stitch each piece with organza by hand to add density. Then the product is assembled and finally the lining, which is also quilted by hand, and the final touch is a crocheted lobster. This project does not use a sewing machine.
'The Cutting Edge' 2024
A group project aimed at working with volumes, unusual shapes, crinoline designs and textures. The main inspiration was the architecture and women’s outfits of the 18th century.
The White project 'Dissimilarity' 2022
The goal of the project is to be inspired by the DNA of the chosen brand, in my case Yohji Yamamoto, and build a concept based on it, adding your own story.
This is how the idea of comparing life and death, which always go hand in hand, appeared. Yohji always worked hard, invented, created, believed in his work, until somewhere inside everything was destroyed a long time ago due to a great personal tragedy. In this project, I touch on the topic of contrasts. The eternal dualism of the world inspired me to explore the interweaving of lives. This is due to the aesthetics of Yamamoto, which based its brand on personal experiences and memories brought about by traumatic experiences during World War II.
My research is based on the lens of a biologist, comparing inanimate and living nature, based on corals, since it is difficult to describe their state — inanimate or animate. Inspired by the diverse, vibrant shapes, I juxtapose them with unnatural symmetry, designing a pattern. Based on the idea of heterogeneity, the shirt is divided into two contradictory parts. The silhouette of the shirt should be as loose as possible and hide the girl’s body, following the main features of the brand. The use of raw edges, protruding threads, in parallel with neat hand embroidery, complements the concept of contrast. These two parts are combined in one product, they can separate, but they cannot live different lives.
'Coat' 2023
The project is inspired by childhood in winter Russia.
It was based on photographs of bundled-up children, similar to nesting dolls, children’s monster toys and landscapes of winter cities.
The two-layer hood, which keeps you warm inside, and the cuffs are made of homemade tweed, which was hand-woven to keep you warm during the harsh season. The lining throughout the product is made of pleasant, smooth silk so that it does not prick, as it usually does. And the wide silhouette allows you to wear more sweaters and turtlenecks for long winter, family walks.
