Hideout residence by Form bureau

Hideout is a new project by the Wynwood Hotel team. It’s a new community quarter offering residences for permanent living or renting for any period. Each residence is unique and was created in collaboration with the top architectural and design bureaus.

Form bureau worked on residence #14.

The residence is designed to be a private art space that combines minimalist design, unique furniture pieces, and contemporary art.

The space is like a cabinet of curiosities, gradually revealing its various artifacts. In German, there’s a special word for this: «wunderkammer,» which refers to a place for storing rare and secret items.

An elegant rack, is one of the key objects in the residence. It stores open gallery curated selection of art objects and antiques that will be constantly changing. The Wunderkammer is a kind of micro-gallery that reflects the passion of the project founders for collecting contemporary art!

The soft-lighted bedroom is decorated with paintings by the artist Galya Fadeeva. The reinterpreted floral ornaments refer to the luxurious chambers of the ancient palaces and mansions of St. Petersburg, turning the room into a unique art object.

The architecture of the apartment features clean forms and geometric contours. The unique furniture with original shapes and textures stands out against this backdrop.

Mirror and metal surfaces of the kitchen area create a spectacular play of light. The checkerboard parquet flooring evokes a sense of the past reimagined in a modernist style.

The residence was designed to be flexible and flowing, resembling an enfilade in Empire style. The space can function as a spacious studio or be divided into more private areas.

The Wunderkammer, a place for storing rare and unique items, forms the basis of our concept. The residence is designed to be a private art space, a cabinet of curiosities that gradually reveals its various artifacts.

The apartment has a view on the historical St. Petersburg embankment and the ancient church, creating a unique dialogue between modernity and historical architecture, past and present.
