

In 2023, students at the School of Design received a thematic course in Old Ladog, before the petrovic times, which was simply called Ladoga. An expedition of the ICU School of Design was devoted to the study of the origins of ancient Russian history, captured in the meanings and images of architecture, writing, and monumental painting.

The Oldest Street of Ladogi is the Wapodsky Street. It begins on the left bank of the River Ladochka and now runs along the shore of the Volkhov. The first mention of the street is in 1500. The direction of the building and the street vector changed in the late 18th century, when rich shopping houses were built on Vaporsk Street.
For 33 years, Evdokia Lupuchina, the first wife of Peter I, was in the monasteries. The change of the monastery meant that the penalty would be increased or reduced. The Queen lived in the St. Uspen monastery from 1718 to 1725. All this time, there was a military guard in the monastery who closely monitored the isolation of the nun.
