The Myth of Archimedes
Through the use of photography, modeling, 3D scanning, and AI generation, I have obtained a series of images related to caves. I then transfer these images onto the ancient wet-plate photography medium. While «technology» and «medium» seem to be omnipotent, replicating everything we see without hesitation, there remains an insurmountable chasm between our perception and the artifacts created by technology. Like a faint, mysterious light in the pitch-black depths of a cave, my creative intention is to explore the gaps left behind when these technologies attempt to replicate our world.
About the myth behind this world, He, like an infant, full of wonder, Pounded relentlessly on the narrow gate, Two thousand years ago.
Thus, he became a hero, A precision instrument, And a lifeless puppet.
A tiny seed, Rooted deep within the hero’s body, Growing into one.
Years turned into centuries, The seed matured into a grand tree, Veiling our path ahead, Providing shelter for the masses.
The narrow gate stands closed, And whispers of the knocks echo faintly, From time to time.
