From 15 to 18 May, the National School of Design and HSE ART GALLY participated for the first time in the Port Art Fair.
Within the framework of the PAF, which is already taking place for the third time, the ICU School of Design presented 13 of its authors, students from Moscow and St. Petersburg, to the Gallery Section. Visitors were able to see and acquire works performed in a variety of techniques, ranging from cyanotype and painting to water pipes. Participants included students Victoria Mahanov, Milan Omelianchuk, Elizabeth Afanassiev, Dmitri Glaskov, Elizabeth Salamahin, Sofia Matushkin, Nick Hahaev, Anna Stavipjenko, Svetlana Gagauz, Mirjana Elizabeth, Valery Sutyagin, Xenia Harabuga.
A special place on the stand will be the work of the academic director of the ICU School of Design, Erevan, a famous designer and artist, Igor Gurovich, who will present his works in a new format, moved to carpets in a collaboration with the creative laboratory Concept Carpet Lab.
In parallel with the exhibition at the fair, there is an open educational programme. It is attended by teachers from the School of Design: PARAZIT and the Golden Ages, Ivan Smirnov became the speaker for the discussion «Art — Handicraft — Design». The latest trends,» and Nikita Zelepuchin will talk about re-saikling and apsaikling in design and fashion.
One of the organizers of Port Art Fair was a graduate of the Van Worontsov Design School, art director of Porta’s Sevkabel. He designed the design of the fair and proposed the idea of ceramic invitations for VIP guests with the PAF logo. Limited products reflect the subject of manipulativeity, where minor defects — prints or mild asymmetrics — highlight the author’s trail.
Port Art Fair is a multi-format event aimed at supporting local artists, developing art markets and strengthening links between art community members. The fair consists of several sections: modern authors ' stands, as well as digital arts areas where innovative projects are presented. This year, 90 artists and 35 galleys from St. Petersburg, Moscow, Kazani, Ufa, Penza, Barnaul and other Russian cities took part in the event.
