Anti-curtain «Yard» Ivanova Elena, TWO design Wide format digital printing on fabric Year of creation 2024 In a single copy The «Yard» anti-curtain was conceived as a backdrop for a pair of lamps: the view of an old Moscow courtyard depicted on it is in fact completely devoid of vegetation and benches. There are so many such courtyards without yards, views without views, where one window looks into another. That’s how I came up with a replacement for the window view. When you fence off from the city, which does not offer the rest for an eye or solace in the landscape, you can close the anti-curtains to create a discrete atmosphere and a cozy view of the courtyard full of birds, benches and trees. And having photographed the lamps on this background, I was convinced that the image on the curtain was certainly perceived as a background.
