In 2013, Russian scientists from INU MEET developed an artificial circulatory machine called Sputnik. A prototype competing with American and European designs required market promotion, so Artemia Lebedev’s studio made a brand style for developers, while Kulinich Oleg, Chernov Nikita and Kucaronok Alexei made a video explaining the technology in the instrument and its importance to heart-insecure patients.
In working on the video scenario, it was necessary to understand the technological features of biomedical devices, the licensing process, the testing process and the current state of affairs in the treatment of patients with heart problems. All the information received and informed was to be put into a two-minute video explaining to any unprepared viewer why AVC devices were a good alternative to donor bodies and why a domestic device could be trusted by its relatives and loved ones.

A character design developed by Artemia Lebedev Studio
Because we had to stick to Artemia Lebedev’s brand style, which was designed by Artemia Lebedev’s studio, with the character at its centre, part of the video was performed in 2d animation technology, followed by after-treatment at the After Effects. For 2d animator, our creative group came up with an allegorical story about the beginning of the disease and the subsequent happy escape from the inevitable tragic end.

The medical-related part of the video was done in the technique of wiping graphics. By means of a set of laconic images consistent with the original design, the complex choices and problems of heart failure are described.
And the third part of the video is 3d graphics. By taking the engineering files for which the instrument is manufactured at the plant, we have made three-dimensional models of the instrument modules and a small animation explaining its device and the principle of operation.

The creators of the AKA Satellite took up the job almost without any corrections, except for the request to wear underpants on the character. Despite the fact that in the original design of the Lebedev studio, the character fighting the disease was blatantly naked — we went to meet scientists and engineers and put the hero in neat swimsuits.
The hero of the video is now a surf in undisturbed swimsuits.
Cheers!
